In 2012, we planted 1208 cold hardy grape vines suited to wine making. Our primary red variety is Marquette, with a few Petite Pearl vines for blending. Our white varieties are Frontenac Gris, Louise Swenson, St. Pepin and Prairie Star. Most of these varieties were developed at the University of Minnesota. In 2014 we will plant a variety of fruits and berries to make fruit wine, some possibly blended with grape wine.
We expect to have wine for sale in 2016 from our 2015 grape and fruit crops. In the meantime, check out some of the many other great Maine wineries at the links to the left.
